Gaylord Schrick was born April 19, 1933 at
rural George, Iowa. He was the son of George and Anita (Klingenborg) Schrick.
He lived his youth in the George area and graduated from the George High
School
He married Ellen Kix of George, Iowa on June 29, 1953. They farmed west of
town for a few years. They moved to Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and later to
the Twin Cities where he was a purchasing agent for a manufacturing company
for 30 years. His love was farming and working with his hands doing
woodworking.
Being in ill health, he became a resident of the George Good Samaritan
Center in September of 2005. He passed away there on Monday, June 16, 2008
at the age of 75.
He leaves to cherish is memories, his children, Galen Schrick of Portland,
Oregon; Lori and husband Bill Hanley of Saint Paul, Minnesota; and Janna and
husband Matt Homan of Minneapolis, Minnesota. Also left to cherish his
memories are five grandchildren, Laura and Spencer Hanley and Erika, Grace,
and Matea Homan; three brothers, Byron and wife Glenda Schrick of George,
Iowa; Judson and wife Carol Schrick of Decorah, Iowa; Edgar and wife Marilyn
Schrick of Rock Rapids, Iowa and many other family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and wife.
