Herlean H. Johnson was born May 31, 1923 at rural George, Iowa, the daughter of Dick and Esther (Christians) Uhden. She lived her youth around Rock Rapids, Iowa and attended country school.

She married Daniel Mc Graw in July, 1955 at the Methodist Church in Luverne, Minnesota. They lived in Little Rock, Iowa. Daniel died March 19, 1965. She was re-married on January 12, 1967 to Evert C. Johnson at the First Presbyterian Church in Little Rock, Iowa. Evert died December 28, 1986. She continued to live in Little Rock until her health failed. She then became a resident of the Lyon Manor Nursing and Rehab Center. She passed away there on Saturday, June 28, 2008 at the age of 85. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Ladies Auxiliary of Buss-Johnson American Legion Post 316. She loved playing cards and Rummikub.

She leaves to cherish her memories, two daughters, Kathleen (David) Stastny of Omaha, Nebraska and Evon (Robert) Delgado of Council Bluffs, Iowa; one granddaughter, Jennifer Pry and two great-granddaughters Sierra Wortman and Baylee Wortman.

She was preceded in death by her parents; two husbands; and one sister, Evina Wiersma.
